San Basilio, Italy
The archaeological area adjacent to the Cultural Tourist Center St. Basil preserves some remains of its ancient settlement of this territory. In particular, there are traces of a large architectural complex comprising a nearly Christian church, the octagonal baptistery and a small cemetery with graves Capuchin. The first finds the estate Forzello in San Basilio Ariano Polesine date back to 1980, while excavations were conducted on several occasion since 1983. In order to achievethe archaeological area now being visited, new excavations were undertaken by the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritageof the Veneto region between 2005 and 2007.

Within the project, twelve archeological
sites in four countries are marked with
Augmented Reality infoboards.
When viewed through smart phone,
the boards trigger virtual presentations
and offer additional info to visitors,
thus transforming the routes into
virtual open air museum.
